Alex Bear: Druid, Activist, Artist, Author and Trans man.
I am based in the East Midlands, in a small market town midway between Nottingham and Derby. I was born on the South coast of England and have lived in a number of places across the south of England before finally moving to the Midlands where I was charmed by the stunning landscapes of Derbyshire and decided to make it my home. In the early summer of 2016 I fell unceremoniously out of the closet, after realising that I am transgender. Since then I have been socially and medically transitioning from female to male. I am very much an open book and am incredibly hard to offend with genuine questions.
For a number of years I facilitated the local Pagan moot in Ripley, Derbyshire. As well as facilitating a small group of Pagans from various paths in celebrating the wheel of the year.
I am available to book as a speaker and facilitator of talks and workshops on a wide variety of subjects ranging from Transgender awareness and inclusion, running moots, through to various aspects of Paganism and Druidry. You can find a list of my booking requirements here Booking requirements.
Prior to the pandemic I was a regular speaker at Pagan Pride in Nottingham as well as at Pagan Federation events in the Midlands and North East. Most recently I offered a Trans perspective on working with the Sheela Na Gig at a Celebration of the Sheela day in Oxford.
